So much is happening this month! We are all getting back into our routines and the students are borrowing “just right” books from the Media Center. Our policy is that grades K-2 select one book every week and grades 3-5 select two books every other week.
Grades 3-5 have been working hard to develop their typing skills with typingstudy.com. At the end of September the students will begin a research project celebrating Hispanic Heritage Month.
Grade 1 and 2 are learning how to log in to the computers and are practicing reading, writing and math on starfall.com and abcya.com. Kindergarten students have been introduced to the computers, are getting lessons in operating a mouse, and are thrilled to be able to explore starfall.com. Grade K and 1 also are enjoying and participating in read alouds while Grade 2 students are learning about touch typing.
The students have also been enjoying previewing many of the wonderful books that will be available to them at the Book Fair that is coming to the Media Center the week of September 29th.
